MAD STALKER

Big robots, in the city beating and shooting other robots. This great 2d action side scroller involves you controlling a huge robot with a range of moves to tackle enemy machines and troops. The controls for the moves adopt Streetfighter esque motions the special moves which include a gun shot and a jumping upercut. Your robot also has standard punching, kicking, jumping and dashing moves. The characters are large and the backgrounds very detailed with suitable music for the Neo Tokyo type setting.

Phalanx

Phalanx is a side scrolling shoot em up, of which there is an inferior Snes version (also found on PSX Zero Devide), and a modern GBA version. Sharing more in common with the Thunderforce series than the likes of R - Type, the graphics are excellent, there are over 5 scrolling layers on the first level alone, the second level throws up transparent water which looks great. As with any shooter worth its salt, the difficluty curve is tight, the first level is a breeze, but things soon heat up, one for the experts im sure.

Cha-Ren-Sha

Again, great graphics prevail in this intersting shoter. The scrolling background repeats ad infintium, but the sprites are huge, the explosions thrilling. Cha-Ren-sha offers something i've not seen before in a game, the option to play it in either horizontal or verical modes. The game looks the same, just flipped either way, but of course it effects the play greatly, i personally prefer the horizontal approach. Nice synth rock is present in the soundtrack, try it out.
