PC Engine was a joint effort between
Hudson Soft Group and
NEC electronics to crack the VG market, released in 1987, they tiny machine was an instant hit as the cutting edge machine in Japan. Soon followed the first home console CD add on, the machine did get a release in the USA under the Turbografx 16 name, to limited success. The console had many different forms and upgrades, ensuring its popularity well into the mid 90's.
